How DrinkCheck works

Three steps, 15 seconds

DrinkCheck test strips use a colour-change reaction designed to be read with the naked eye in seconds. No app, no battery, no waiting.

  1. Open. Peel the foil seal of one single-use strip.
  2. Drop. Apply two drops of your drink onto each reaction pad.
  3. Read. Compare the colour change against the indicator guide printed on the pouch. Result in under 15 seconds.

What we detect

DrinkCheck is calibrated against the substances most commonly involved in drink-spiking incidents:

  • GHB
  • Ketamine
  • Cocaine
  • Scopolamine
  • Methamphetamine
  • Amphetamine

Note. No rapid test can detect every possible substance or concentration. DrinkCheck is a powerful first-line tool; if something feels wrong, trust your instincts and seek help regardless of the result.

Clinical validation

DrinkCheck is validated by three independent laboratories — Clinical Trials Laboratory Services (London), the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow), and a third independent UK lab — and is accredited by the UK Police prevention initiative (Secured by Design). Sensitivity and specificity data are available on request for wholesale partners and research inquiries.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use DrinkCheck on any drink?

Yes — beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks. Highly coloured drinks like red wine or milk-based cocktails can make the colour change harder to read; consult the indicator guide on the pouch carefully.

How long are the strips shelf-stable?

Up to seven years from manufacture when stored unopened, dry, and away from direct heat. The best-before date is printed on every pouch.

What should I do after a positive result?

Do not consume the drink. Remove yourself from the situation if possible, alert a trusted person, and contact local emergency services (112 in the EU, 911 in the US) if you feel unsafe or unwell.

Yes. You are testing your own beverage. DrinkCheck is sold as a consumer safety product.
